Here’s a question for the brokers reading this blog: Would you like the option, which you’d control, of syndicating your listings to sites like Google, Yahoo!, Trulia, Zillow, etc., directly from the MLS system?

Not my league, but I would do it in an instant if I were in your shoes, Michael.

Wondering why anyone wouldn’t want this option…

But I suggest proceeding with caution Michael. Talk to the guys at Point2 Agent about how much time and effort they spend with their “syndication partners” trying to iron out all the kinks with different data formats. And be prepared for users to ask, “When are you going to syndicate my listings to the “Listing Site of the Day”. I also know from reading P2’s forums that they get a LOT of calls and complaints about “such and such listing isn’t showing up on such and such site”. 99% of the time it’s a problem with the syndication site, but you know who will get the blame…

Remind me at Inman next week and I can introduce you to a couple of guys (formerly with P2) that set up their syndication stuff.

Not saying it’s a bad idea, at all. Just something to think about.
