In this segment of our interview Michael Wurzer / CEO of FBS Data Systems talks about how flexmls can handle an MLS associations needs for control of the listing flexmls_logo2data once it’s entered into the system and he talks about how what working MLS data models are in place today that are working.

In our conversation, Michael suggests that there is a balancing act that they have to manage; one that sifts through sometime competing demands.  Finally, Michael tells us why he embraces the open collaborative process that is at the heart of the Web2.0 / blogging community.

The system is scheduled to go live July 1 and he’s promised to keep us all advised on the FBS blog, and now we have the Phoenix Real Estate Technology Exchange.

Steven, to ensure clarity on this point, FBS is only a technology provider and doesn’t make any decisions regarding where or how listing data is disseminated or handled. I think that’s clear from the interview but wanted to reiterate it.

Michael, thx for your clarification to the readers - for sure it is not your decision on how the listings get handles; you’re just the pipe.

Complying with the established contract is your task, let’s pray the contract consider the entire stakeholder base; agents, brokers, and real estate consumers / investors.

As a veteran of corp IT myself, it’s easy to see how a project of this size can succumb to scope creep.

Nothing but the best wishes to you and your team as the project moves forward!
