Not to overstimulate the YouTube reflex, but these are excellent representations of the Web 2.0 paradigm shift:

This is the best of them all, in my opinion, because it illustrates the futility of an “us vs. them” strategy:

What we’re seeing is the scaling up of the Athenian Agora or the Roman Forum, a world in which [...]

More from Professor Wesch, this time leading us gently toward the semantic web:

Wish List: Give the geeks an API

Nota bene: In generating wish list items, I am not implying that they’re not already implemented in flexmls, nor am I being a crybaby. I don’t know the flexmls feature set at all, so it could be that I’m asking for things that are already in place, or are implemented in a functionally-equivalent manner. And, [...]

Wish List: Tickle me, MLS, would make a sweet gift

This post is purely a wish list item, something that I think could be cool to have. I won’t die without it. (Witness me already without it, already not dying.) But it would a sweet little boon, I think.
Back story: A couple of days ago, I had a call from a sweet lady who would [...]

Can our son get to a first-class high school from our new home on a city bus with no transfers?

Joel Burslem at The Future of Real Estate Marketing has a post today on a new school-reporting feature at Estately.com.
Estately is the most ambitious of the consumer-focused map-based search portals, so it is very worth watching. Actually, it would be a good thing if Estately’s Galen Ward were participating here, as well.
We like to say [...]

Why we built this weblog, and why it’s going to work: Understanding weblogging as the Web 2.0 software paradigm best suited to documenting our transition to flexmls

The impetus for building this weblog came from the Phoenix real estate weblogging community — which is to say the owners of the weblogs you see listed in the blogroll on the sidebar. I was the first to suggest it, but that was an accident of timing. The idea of addressing a problem like this [...]

We just added a new contributor, David Newcombe:
David NewcombeRealtor, Eco BrokerMGUrban.com
David is the chair of the Scottsdale Area Association of Realtors MLS committee. He serves on the ARMLS MLS committee and was part of the task force that chose FBS Systems as our new MLS provider.

We’re still a long way from the full flexmls implementation, but I’m already dancing on Tempo’s grave

Here’s how much I hated Tempo:
A few years ago, I worked out how to do a “Save As” on a Saved Search, which the ARMLS trainers insist cannot be done.
Why does this matter? If you have a standing Saved Search that does almost what you want another search to do, then doing a “Save As” [...]

FlexMLS is coming to Phoenix…

This is a copy of my celebratory post from BloodhoundBlog:
This is strictly local news, but I can’t stop myself from rejoicing:
FlexMLS is replacing Tempo as the web-based MLS system for the Arizona Regional Multiple Listing System.
What this means is that Michael Wurzer, whom we all know and revere, has volunteered to be devoured by savage [...]
